Sofa, dear sofa. As the undisputed leading player in the living area, a sofa is a piece of furniture we need to choose carefully considering several factors: design, functionality, comfort, quality of materials.
Design and functionality. A sofa is for relaxing alone or with friends, so it must be comfortable, but it must also encourage conversation and be comfortable for reading and watching TV, in a seated or reclining position. According to the needs of our own space and the use we want to make of it, it may be modular to create corner solutions and with a chaise longue and with integrated small tables or storage compartments; it may be placed with its back to the wall or be free-standing in the middle of the room – a growing trend in open plan houses with adjoining rooms.
The THECA sofa from the Collection Concept by Caroti has open storage units integrated in the outer part of the armrests and backrests that can hold magazines, books, ornaments and various items and can be produced in any RAL K7 CLASSIC matt effect coloured lacquer (over 190 varieties) so as to match with the rest of the furniture in the home.
THECA is a system of modular sofas consisting of 3, 2 or 1 seat modules and chaise longue, with or without armrests that lend themselves to numerous compositions. Starting with individual elements, you can compose solutions of various shapes and sizes, with a corner design or a horseshoe, to fit every kind of environment and space requirements. The combinations are almost endless.
Quality materials and comfort. It does not matter whether you choose classic or modern style, the important thing is that it is comfortable and will remain that way. Make sure that the supporting structure is made with solid materials like multilayer poplar and deal wood and that the feet are made of wood or steel. It should have comfortable padding made from crushproof polyurethane foam of various densities, be coated with resin weighing 200 gr/m2, while the seat cushions should preferably be made of crushproof polyurethane foam (rubber density: 32 FR) covered with dacron (weight 350 gr/m2). Backrests in crushproof polyurethane foam (rubber density: 21 FE). To ensure maximum stability, the modular elements are fixed together using metal pins located on the side of the structure. The THECA sofa from the Concept collection by Caroti encompasses all these features and you can choose from a vast range of padded upholstery linings in several colours made from faux leather, leather, nubuck or fabric or by request it can be made with materials supplied by the customer for a greater personalised touch.
